Lecture on Biomedical Applications of Magnetically Controlled Microrobots by Prof. Li Zhang from CUHK
On July 16, 2025, Prof. Li Zhang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was invited by MBIT lab to deliver an academic lecture entitled "Biomedical Applications of Magnetically Controlled Microrobots" at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China. The event was chaired by Prof. Ronald X. Xu, attracting numerous faculty and students from diverse academic disciplines.
During the lecture, Prof. Zhang began with the concept of microrobots proposed by Nobel laureate Richard Feynman, systematically presenting the latest advancements in magnetically controlled microrobots for biomedical applications. He highlighted his team's innovative achievements in minimally invasive surgery and targeted therapy, including breakthroughs such as medical microswarm systems. These research developments provide new technological pathways for future precision medicine.
Attendees engaged in in-depth discussions with Prof. Zhang regarding the clinical applications of microrobot technology, fostering lively exchanges. This academic activity has provided valuable learning opportunities for researchers in related fields at our institution and further promoted academic collaboration and knowledge sharing.
