ISBMIS 2025 Forum Advances Organoid Technology: From “Lab Art” to Industrialization
The ISBMIS 2025 Interdisciplinary Frontier Forum, hosted by USTC Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, successfully concluded on September 20, 2025. Chaired by Prof. Ronald X. Xu and Prof. Mingzhai Sun, the hybrid event gathered experts from Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other institutions to explore breakthroughs in organoid research.
The forum highlighted the transition of organoid culture from artisanal “lab art” to scalable industrial production. Key discussions focused on AI-driven standardization, robotic automation, and vascularized 3D bioprinting, addressing long-standing challenges of reproducibility and scalability. Speakers presented advances such as AI-optimized culture protocols and organ-on-chip systems, while debates centered on unresolved issues including vascularization, organoid maturation, sterile robotics integration, and ethical governance.
Notably, as part of the ISBMIS forum series, this forum achieved global participation with over 7,000 online attendees, underscoring the critical role of interdisciplinary collaboration in driving the clinical translation and industrial adoption of organoid technologies.
