On October 20–21, 2026, Dr. Denys Makarov, Head of the Department of Intelligent Materials and Systems at Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR), Germany, and Dr. Larysa Baraban, Professor of Medical Nanotechnology at Technische Universität Dresden and Head of the Nano-Microsystems for Life Sciences group at HZDR, visited our research group at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). During their visit, they delivered lectures as part of the Dushu Forum lecture series on biomedical engineering, jointly organized by the Institute and the School of Biomedical Engineering.

On July 31, the International Symposium on Biological, Materials and Information Sciences 2026 (ISBMIS’26), together with the Symposium on the Development of Instrument Science and Technology, was held at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China.

On June 1, 2026, the Dushu Forum · Frontier Forum on Medical-Engineering Integration was held at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, USTC. Prof. Stefaan De Smedt from Ghent University, Belgium, delivered a lecture titled “Multi-Disciplinary Approaches for Precision Delivery of Bio-Therapeutics”

On May 21, 2026, the Dushu Forum · Frontier Forum on Medical-Engineering Integration was held at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, USTC. Prof. Cynthia Roberts from The Ohio State University delivered a lecture titled “Why are Biomechanics Important in Ophthalmology?”

The ISBMIS 2025 Interdisciplinary Frontier Forum, hosted by USTC Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, successfully concluded on September 20, 2025. Chaired by Prof. Ronald X. Xu and Prof. Mingzhai Sun, the hybrid event gathered experts from Tsinghua University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and other institutions to explore breakthroughs in organoid research.

On May 29, 2025, Suzhou Yantu Education Technology Co., Ltd. (Yantu Education) and the MBIT Laboratory at the Suzhou Institute for Advanced Research, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) held an industry-academia collaboration symposium. The meeting was chaired by Professor Xu of the MBIT Laboratory, with participation from Yantu Education’s CEO and technical teams from both parties.

On April 13, 2025, MBIT laboratory held its annual spring team-building event in Hefei.
